Sywyk, Andrew
Pte. Andrew Sywyk lost his life in France, September 17, 1944, fighting with the 48th Highlanders and was buried at Boulogne. Born in Brantford on August 13, 1923, he attended Central School. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the Canadian Army and trained at Camp Borden for six months before leaving for England in May, 1942. He went into France on D-Day and fought through the summer campaign. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Sywyk, who predeceased him, Andrew made his home with his sister, Mrs. Alice Murphy, 68 Tuxedo Avenue.
