Our Services-Request an Item From Another Library

If we do not have an item, there are several ways we may be able to find it for you through our:

Interlibrary loans

*NOTICE: All inter-library loan requests will be paused due to the Canada Post strike. Late and lost notices will not be mailed. We will update you when these services can be resumed. If you have any questions, please get in touch with the library.

Brantford Public Library members can borrow items from other libraries through an interlibrary loan service. Materials that can be borrowed from other libraries include books and DVDs. All materials requested through our interlibrary loan service must be more than five years old and not currently in our catalogue. We do not guarantee that all requests can be filled. Prior to using this service:

  • Check the Library Catalogue
  • Check the WLU catalogue for academic materials
  • A limit of five (5) requests per month
  • Newer items, less than five years old, should be requested through our Suggest a Purchase form below
  • Fill out the Interlibrary Loan Request Form to place your order

Wilfrid Laurier University catalogue

Brantford Public Library members can borrow items from the Wilfrid Laurier University Library with a  WLU Community Borrower card.
Community borrowers can request items through WLU’s Omni catalogue. Only printed books belonging to the WLU Library can be requested. When requesting items, select WLU Brantford Circulation for your pick-up location. You will receive an email when the books are ready for pick-up.
 
The Laurier Brantford collection is located on the first floor of the Main Library. WLU items can only be checked out and returned at the Main Library.
