He attended Marlboro United Church and Sunday School. Enlisting with the Brockville Rifles in May, 1942, the young soldier trained in various parts of Canada, as far west at Nanaimo, B.C., and as far east as Debert, N.S. He was moved overseas in February, 1943, to England. He then served in Africa and in Sicily before the action of the war moved on to Italy. Now he lies in the Canadian Cemetery at Cassino.
