Broddy, James Morley

F/S James Morley Broddy, a wireless air gunner in the R.C.A.F., was reported missing after air operations over Europe on March 10, 1942. Enlisting on July 2, 1940, he was trained in Toronto and Calgary and graduated from the Fingal School on February 8 of the following year. A little more than a month later he left for England. Born at Port Rowan, June 1, 1916, F/S Broddy received his public school education there and, coming to St. George with his parents, Dr. W. A. Broddy and Mrs. Broddy, went on to the Continuation School in that village. In the next few years he fitted well into the life of his school and community and, since he was interested in athletics, played a good game of hockey and at one time captured the senior cup in the Brant County Continuation Schools field day competition. He also was a good amateur photographer. He was an adherent of the St. George United Church. He was married to the former Miss Ruth B. Keirle.
