Langley, Warren John E.

L/Bdr. Warren John Edwin Langley, husband of Mrs. Nettie Langley, 212 Bruce Street, had been in England with the 69th Light Anti-Aircraft Battery of the 4th Regiment of Artillery for more than a year, when on October o, 1942, he became ill and in spite of the best efforts of medical science, he died with almost shocking suddenness. He had been stationed at Clacton-On-Sea and was buried in the Brookwood Cemetery with full military honors, his comrades mourning the loss of a good friend and a fine soldier. He had enlisted with his regiment on June 11, 1940, and had been overseas since February, 1941. L/Bdr. Langley had resided in Brantford for about 10 years, having come here from London where he was born and attended school. He worked in the road department of the Canadian National Railways. Besides his work he had few outside interests, being very fond of his home and his family and content to spend his leisure time doing things about the house. His one sporting activity was wrestling, and he enjoyed some considerable prowess in this art. Besides his wife, he leaves one son,
