Stockdale, Robert Leeming
Pte. Robert Leeming Stockdale enlisted in the Army in September, 1943, and was trained at London, Brampton, Debert and Stratford, before going overseas in November, 1944. He went into action on the Continent with the Essex Scottish Regiment and lost his life on February 19, 1945, in the Hochwald Forest, Germany. Born in Brantford on November 5, 1916, Pte. Stockdale attended Farringdon School. He was employed at the
Cockshutt Plow Company, Ltd., and is survived by his widow and son, James, who reside in Hamilton, and his father, Mr. Robert Stockdale, Brantford.
