Medynski, Lorne

F/O Lorne Medynski, 155 Chatham Street, was reported missing February 14, 1945, following his first operational flight in the skies over Europe. Born in Burford Township, April 18, 1924, Lorne received his education here at Central School and the Brantford Collegiate Institute and Vocational School, and in the classroom displayed exceptional qualities as a student. He was a lad of exemplary character, honest, upright and trustworthy, and upon graduation from school was successful in his business career, first with Proctor Packers Limited and then with the Cockshutt Plow Company, Limited. He enlisted with the R.C.A.F., on March 3, 1943, and trained in Toronto, Kingston and

Guelph, and graduated from the Jarvis School as a gunner. He went overseas in May, 1944. The same zeal he had shown in his civilian work was apparent in his service in the forces and promotion came to him surely and steadily. He is deeply mourned by a wide circle of friends in Brantford and also by a sister, Mrs. Helen Fraser, Toronto.
