Dore, Thomas William
Sgt. Thomas William Dore, of the Highland Light Infantry, was seriously wounded at Falaise, Normandy, August 22, 1944, and died at the age of 25 in Basingstoke Hospital, on September 5, 1944. "Tommy" was born in Paris, received his education in the Paris schools and was a member of the Anglican Church. He was an ardent sportsman and assisted his regiment to a camp championship in 1942, which entitled him to a leave in London with all expenses paid, then repeated the honor in 1943, and was presented with a silver cup. He married Miss Catherine Curtiss, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Dore, all of Paris.
