Obediah, Wilfred
Pte. Wilfred Obediah, the son of Mrs. Ada Obediah, Otterville, was born on the Six Nations Reservation at Smoothtown, near Ohsweken, and was educated at the Mohawk Institute and Otterville Public School. He was an enthusiastic ball player and a good athlete. As a soldier in the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division he fought and died in the battle of Caen, Normandy, on July 8, 1944. He had enlisted in the Army in November, 1943, and had been overseas only two months at the time of his death.
