Todd, James George

Pte. James George Todd, eldest son of Mr. James Todd and the late Mrs. Todd, Washington St., Paris, was killed in action in Holland on April 5, 1945, less than two months before the unconditional surrender of the German forces. The Paris soldier, serving with the Black Watch Regiment, had been overseas about a year going with the Royal Canadian Engineers, but had been transferred to the infantry. He was wounded on October 31, 1944, while in action in Holland and was in hospital in England for several months. He had only rejoined his unit a short time before his death. Born near Harrington, December 8, 1908, he was educated at the Paris Public and the Kitchen Schools. He was a member of the Paris Presbyterian Church, and was employed at the Consolidated Sand and Gravel Ltd. Enlisting on October 9, 1943; he was trained at Petawawa and Debert.
