Self-serve Kiosk Opens in West Brantford

As Brantford continues to grow, we are excited to offer another service point in our community.

A self-serve Library Kiosk is now available to use at the Sobeys on Colborne Street in West Brantford.

The Library Kiosk will be stocked with 150 items and can be used in three easy steps:

  1. Scan your Library card and enter your Library card PIN
  2. Open the door and remove the books you would like to borrow
  3. Close the door

And - that’s it!

The items are checked out automatically once they are removed from the kiosk and you will receive a printed receipt showing the date the items need to be returned. You can put any books back into the kiosk, if you decide you don't want to borrow them.

People can borrow as many items as they like from the kiosk, which will be replenished regularly.

This will be our second kiosk after the successful launch of the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre kiosk in 2023.

By having the kiosk at the Sobeys, the Library is extending service further into West Brantford along with the plans to open a third branch in 2026 on the corner of Strickland Avenue and  Shellard Lane. The Gretzky Centre is also open seven days a week and has longer hours than existing Library branches. The kiosk is set to launch on September 17th.
